This post was originally published last year right before Father’s Day, but I had to repost it since fathers day is coming up so soon!
If you are like me, you are always running late on decorations. This banner is an easy, quick, and fun way to let daddy know how much your little ones love him! And it is so adorable, who can resist?
Hubby loved his banner last year, I am still trying to come up with a last minute craft for this year! Enjoy! (you can download a SCUT file at the end of the post to make your own!)
The heat is on- it’s almost father’s day, and I am seriously behind! I have been so busy with the Esty shop lately that I have been sadly behind on my fathers day ideas.
It seems like the big trend this year is the Tie Banner- and I couldn’t resist making one myself! My husband loves ties, and I love pennants!
I picked up some adorable cardstock a while back called the “man stack” (its half off at JoAnn’s right now!), and I wanted to put those great papers to use! I used photoshop to trace a tie shape and put it into my Sure Cuts a Lot software along with some letters (in my favorite font, Lobster) to spell out “I Love You Dad” and some extra tie cutouts to make “grandpa” and “dad” cards.
I cut out the shapes with my Cricut, and added in punch holes to the tops of the ties so I could string some jute ribbon through. I then glued the letters on, and I was done! I used the extra ties to make simple one-sided “cards” for Daddy and the Grandpas.
I used five different papers and then cut all the letters in black.
You can download my Sure Cuts a Lot SCUT files here: http://www.4shared.com/file/asm-8-KL/fathers_day_ties.html . I also have circles included in the SCUT file- so you can make some additional banners with the leftover paper.
